To start adding content to Mythscape, we need to add pages. To get started, click on a page in the navigation column that you want to add a subpage to. If you are on the homepage of Deki and there are no pages under it, this will be the start of the MindTouch Deki hierarchy. Click on the
New Pagebutton (which looks like this):
This will create a new page called Page Title. Change the name as desired, and add content to the page like this:
Once you have added content to the page. click Save and the name of the page will be updated in the hierarchy. It looks like this:
Note that the Page name and the name in the Hierarchy are the same. You can continue to add more pages to the hierarchy and create spaces for topics, departments, and more. Please note, when you click the New Page button it will add a subpage to the page that you are currently on. If you want to create a first level hierarchy, you'll want to click on the Home Page before adding a new page.
Creating Sub-pages
Let's assume you were viewing a page titled "Accounting" and you decide to add a new sub-page. First create your main page titled "Accounting” and click save. When on "Accounting” click "New page", this will then create a sub-page, also known as a child page.

Reordering the Hierarchy/Display Titles
MindTouch Deki automatically orders newly created pages in alpha-numeric order according to the URL. You have the ability to override the name of the page and how it appears in the hierarchy to be different from the URL after you save the page for the first time. This gives flexibility to organize the hierarchy according to the URL while maintaining user facing friendly titles. To reorder a hierarchy do the following:
If your hierarchy is as follows:
- Home
- Apples are good
- Bananas are the best
- Carrots are OK
Now if you want to reorder we would move the page by clicking More -> Move and then in the Title field in the Move dialog you would give the page a title that would place it below "Bananas are the best" at the top. For example "Bananas are the best" -> "1Bananas are the best" This will only change the URL of the page but still maintain the the Display title. The hierarchy will then show the following:
- Home
- Bananas are the best
- Apples are good
- Carrots are OK
The URLfor Bananas are the best is now http://yourwiki/1Bananas_are_the_best but, it is displayed as "Bananas are the best" on the Page Title and in the hierarchy.
